Upcoming New Services and Pricing Change

Every year around my birthday, I like to take a bit of time to think about the past year - what I liked, what I’d like to change - and think of a few goals for the new year. A few weeks ago, when I did this exercise, I came up with a lot of ideas! Many of the ideas had been percolating in the back of my mind for a while, and reviewing the past year gave me a nice little push to get started. The new services I am offering starting November 1st are just some changes! There’s more to come, too - stay tuned (and sign up for my newsletter to hear about them first!)

This entry covers all the new treatments and appointment types, as well as the price change I am making to one of my appointments. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out! You can email me at kate@fireweedacupucnture.com.

New services!

I have a few new services coming up that I am really excited to start offering:

  • Facial Rejuvenation + Acupuncture appointments are a luxurious, holistic treatment - each 90-minute appointment includes full body acupuncture along with facial gua sha and cupping. This treatment features products by TOMA Essential Skin Therapy, a woman-owned skincare company founded by Licensed Acupuncturists. These appointments are $185. You’re welcome to treat yourself to this relaxing appointment as needed, but practicing regular facial gua sha and cupping leads to lasting results - so I also have treatment packages available! Anyone can schedule this appointment - not just current patients! This appointment is a great fit for you if:

    • looking to relax and receive a little extra care,

    • have been curious about acupuncture but don't have anything in particular you need to work on right now,

    • experience pain or tension in your jaw, face, and/or neck,

    • are looking to improve your skin tone and fine lines and help your skin look brighter and healthier.

  • I will also start offering Cupping Only 30-minute tune-ups for current patients for $60. These quick visits include 15-20 minutes of bodywork (mostly cupping) to help you maintain progress between longer visits.

  • Soon, I will also be offering Holistic Microneedling + Acupuncture appointments. I’ll talk a lot more about these when they are available, but each appointment includes full body acupuncture and a face and neck microneedling and nanoneedling treatment. Microneedling and nanoneedling are a way to quickly increase Qi and Blood in the face, which can help reduce scarring and improve your skin’s tone and condition, and more. Microneedling and nanoneedling are also effective for scarring elsewhere on the body! These treatments also use TOMA Essential Skin Therapy, which I am thrilled to bring into the clinic. I’ll share more about these soon!

Memberships!

Starting November 1st, I will be offering a limited number of memberships! These memberships are designed for people who regularly get acupuncture at least twice per month - it’s my way of supporting you in your care.

Benefits of Membership:

  • 2 visits of the selected type per month at a $5-10 discount per visit (depending on visit type)

  • Ability to schedule additional appointments within the same month at the same discounted rate

  • 10% in-clinic retail discount

  • Additional 5% off FullScript supplements

  • Additional discounts and freebies on membership anniversaries

For more info and the available memberships, visit the Membership page! If you’re looking to save some money but receive acupuncture less than 2 times per month, treatment packages may be a better fit for you. Memberships are limited so I am able to honor all the appointments that are promised!

Appointment Pricing Update

This section seems like the biggest change, but it is relatively small! I’ve added extra information to help explain the decision, but it boils down to this: After November 1st, I will be charging an additional $30 per appointment for bodywork when scheduled in advance. Only receive acupuncture? There’s no change to your appointment price!

  • Acupuncture-Only appointment prices aren’t changing - they are still $85 for 60-minute appointments and $135 for 90-minute appointments (follow-up or initial). However, these appointments will no longer include bodywork (cupping, gua sha, massage, etc.). If available, it is possible to add bodywork to a scheduled Acupuncture-Only appointment for $35.

  • Acupuncture + Bodywork appointments are a new category of appointment. These appointments have, predictably, both acupuncture and about 15 minutes of bodywork - which can include massage, gua sha, cupping, tuning forks, and more - based on what is indicated for your appointment. These appointments are $115 (60 minutes) and $135 (90 minutes, follow-up or initial).

  • If you have an Acupuncture-Only appointment scheduled and determine you’d like to include bodywork as part of your treatment, it will be an additional $35 add-on charge, and the ability to add it will depend on availability.

  • Needle-free appointments are also staying the same price - $135 (60-minute follow-up) and $180 (90-minute initial appointment).

This price change goes into effect on November 1st. However, any appointment made before November 1st for an appointment that occurs in November will still pay the current price. Any appointment made after November 1st will be at the new rate. This means I encourage current patients who often receive bodywork during their appointments to schedule ahead for November if they want to pay the lower rate.

If you’re not sure which appointment is right for you, don’t worry! If you often received bodywork - cupping, massage, gua sha, tuning forks, etc. - during your previous appointments, I recommend scheduling that type of appointment in the future. If you’re a new patient and you are visiting for pain, especially in the muscles and joints, I recommend scheduling bodywork. If you’re scheduled for bodywork and end up not needing it, you won’t be charged the additional amount.

Of course, your treatment plan is customized to you! I will never offer bodywork that I don’t think will help you, and if you don’t need the bodywork requested (or I don’t think it’s a good fit for you), I will let you know. And, if you aren’t interested in the additional charge, no problem! We can keep your appointments acupuncture-only, and it’s still very effective. Many people never get bodywork at all during their appointments.

Why the price change? The short version is this: it is customary for acupuncturists (and massage therapists!) to charge more for cupping and other bodywork. Truly, I should have been doing this all along, but I didn’t - so this is a bit of a course correction for me. Bodywork is additional time spent in the room with you and involves a lot of unseen clean-up after the fact. To be compensated for my time both during the session and the supplies used in cleaning up, I am charging the additional fee.

Treatment Packages

I’ve updated the available treatment packages to reflect the additional appointment types. Packages are a great option for people who visit at least once per month - you get 5 visits (except for the Acupuncture + Facial Rejuvenation appointments) and have 6 months to use the appointments before they expire. To see the available treatment packages, visit the Packages page!

That’s it! I hope all of this makes sense! I am happy to answer any questions you may have about it - as always, feel free to email me!
