Winter
“The philosophy of winter is conservation and storage.”
— Huang Di Nei Jing
Winter is an invitation to slow down and rest, but this time of year is often busier than ever with all the holidays and end-of-the-year celebrations! It can be a difficult time of year, too, with less light and being stuck inside a lot of the time - I know that I struggle with seasonal blues every year! Chinese medicine views this time of year as a time to gather and restore our energy reserves, so that when spring comes, we have the energy to burst forth - just like seeds sprouting out of the ground.
